Residential Murals are some of the most fun and most creative. Surprisingly they really help push my bounds as a creative. Check out some of these projects I have done and find out why. Interested in getting a mural of your own?
Swimming Through the Trees.
An old time Family friend, hit me up to complain about the boring ugly wall in his beautiful back yard. He asked me if I could paint something cool on it. He was not super specific with what he wanted and left me to my own devises. Carlos is an avid boater/fisherman and has three young daughters. When I paint backyard murals I first think about, this is something they are going to look at every day as their kids grow, so it needs to be timeless. I wanted it to be fun yet relaxing. I wanted to paint something that was ocean related, but also interesting and magical that would help fuel the children's imaginations. Lastly with an 8' wall in your back yard you can feel pretty closed in so I wanted to create something that helped create space. This is what I came up with and the whole family loved it!
Zen Pool Waterfall
This client owned a stunning waterfront property with a modern structural waterfall flowing into their pool. They wanted to enhance this captivating feature with a unique and stylish piece of art. Although they had a vision of something zen and elegant, they were unsure about the specific subject matter. Understanding that clients can feel anxious when they don't have a clear idea of what they want, I reassure them that my role is to guide them through the process. We begin with an in-depth discussion about their interests and inspirations. Based on this conversation, I assemble a mood board to help narrow down their aesthetic preferences. Once we have a direction, I start crafting designs, and we collaborate, refining the concepts until they meet the client’s vision. My design package includes three complimentary revisions, though it's rare for us to need more than two rounds to achieve the perfect result. For this project, we developed a piece that is both uniquely timeless and tailored to the client's taste. I am thrilled with the final outcome and confident it adds a serene, stylish touch to their already beautiful property.
Abstract Jungle Vibes
Soca music legend, Motto, reached out to me via Instagram with an exciting request. He wanted his entire backyard fence transformed into a vibrant mural with jungle abstract art vibes featuring animals. I assured him he had come to the right place. After sharing pictures and measurements of the fence, we agreed on an estimate, and he sent me a deposit for the designs. He loved the designs and we quickly got to work. While painting, we noticed that the mango tree in his backyard almost perfectly aligned with a tree in our design. Inspired by this, we adjusted the mural so that the top of the mango tree seamlessly blended into the artwork, creating a stunning effect where the tree appears to emerge from the mural itself. The mural turned out to be incredibly cool, with the jungle background creating a striking illusion of expanded space. A week after completing the mural, Motto sent us a YouTube link. He had filmed a music video in front of the mural, and it looked amazing! It was such a fun project to be a part of, collaborating with another creative talent.
Bucky Lou Pet Memorial
I took a trip to Orlando to paint murals for the Central Florida Fair and the Orlando Amphitheatre, bringing along my road dog and best friend, Odin. We had a fantastic week working and playing together. During the weekend, I had a live painting event, so I wanted to find the best, most fun Rover sitter for Odin to enjoy a play day. When I returned to Orlando for another job, I reached out to the same Rover sitter to propose a full-value trade: dog sitting in exchange for a mural. They shared that their dog had recently passed away and they were looking for a meaningful way to memorialize him. This seemed like the perfect opportunity! I was thrilled they were up for the trade because boarding expenses can be quite high. The mural I created for them turned out to be a bright and colorful tribute to their beloved pet, a joyful way to remember a great companion. I love doing pet portraits and look forward to creating more in the future.
The Great Wave Court
While I was painting a public art mural for the City of North Miami, I was approached with an exciting opportunity. A local resident, inspired by my work, asked if I could transform his backyard basketball court into a vibrant work of art for his children. He envisioned a design inspired by the iconic masterpiece, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa," a famous work that resonates with many. This classic piece of art, known for its dynamic energy and timeless beauty. In addition to the mural, he also requested that the official lines of the basketball court be painted. Balancing artistic expression with precise measurements was a unique challenge, but one that I embraced wholeheartedly. The result is a fusion of art and sport, a space where dynamic play meets artistic inspiration. The swirling waves and vibrant hues of "The Great Wave" bring a sense of movement and excitement to the court. I'm thrilled with how this project turned out. It's a true testament to the power of art in transforming everyday spaces into something extraordinary.
Pool Geckos
An awesome client recently reached out to me with a unique request: to paint his fence by his pool deck. He had been inspired by some island-style geckos he saw while traveling and wanted to bring that same timeless, tropical vibe to his outdoor space. The goal was to create a design that would delight both his friends during gatherings and his children as they played. I embraced the challenge and decided to add my own twist to the gecko theme, infusing the design with vibrant colors and dynamic patterns. The result was a stunning transformation of the fence, making it a captivating backdrop for both relaxation and entertainment. The geckos turned out even cooler than expected, adding a touch of exotic charm and playful energy to the pool deck. I'm thrilled with how this project came together and am confident it will bring joy to the client and his guests for years to come.
